Legacy Item Abilities

Sonic Burst (Sp): Starting at 5th level, the wielder of the Horn of Ovtik can create a burst of sound. This sonic burst functions like a fireball. A sonic burst detonates with a large shockwave that causes 1d6 points of sonic damage per wielder level (maximum of 10d6). Normal items in the area of effect can be damaged by the burst (DC 12). Creatures inside the area of effect must also succeed at a Fortitude check (DC 13) or be defeaned for 1d6 rounds.

Call of the horde (Su): Beginning at 6th level, whenever the Horn of Ovtik is blown, all allies of the wielder who are within hearing range are heartened and encouraged in their struggles. Everyone gains +1 morale check to attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects. This effect lasts for one minute.

Fear of the horde (Su): Beginning at 7th level, whenever the Horn of Ovtik is blown, all foes within hearing range are demoralized and suffer a -1 morale penalty to attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects. This effect lasts for one minute.

Sonic missile (Sp): Beginning at 8th level, the wielder of the Horn of Ovtik can create a sonic missile. Similar to a magic missile, this sonic missile hits automatically and causes 1d4+1 points of damage for every two levels beyond 1st.

Sonic form (Sp): Beginning at 9th level, the wielder of the Horn of Ovtik can reshape himself into semisolid sound, as per the spell Sonic Form. While in this sonic form, you take no penalties for squeezing, and you can move through spaces without penalty as if you were a creature three size categories smaller. You can make a melee touch attack once per round that deals 1d6 points of sonic damage + 1 point per caster level. You are considered incorporeal (although you cannot move through solid objects). Any non-magical attacks you make deal half damage. Magical attacks are unaffected, and you can use your magic items and other equipment as normal. You cannot enter an area of silence. If you are in the area of a silence spell, you take 1d6 points of sonic damage per caster level of the silence spell in the round it is cast and in each round when you end your turn within the spell's area. You can attempt a Fortitude saving throw each round to take half damage. If this spell's duration ends when you are in a square that a creature of your size cannot normally occupy, you take 3d6 points of damage and are shunted to the nearest open space that you can normally occupy.

Sonic scream (Sp): Starting at 12th level, the wielder can create a sonic scream. When the Horn of Otvik is blown, a cone of terrible, soul-chilling scream that possibly kills creatures that hear it, except for the wielder. This sonic scream affects up to one creature per wielder level, inflicting 10 points of damage per wielder level. Creatures closest to the point of origin are affected first.

Sonic thrust (Sp): Starting at 13th level, the wielder can create a sonic thrust, similar to the spell of the same name. A sonic thrust produces a sweeping rush of sound that can hurl creatures or objects away from the wielder, like the violent thrust version of telekinesis. The wielder can hurl one object or creature per caster level (maximum 15) that is within range; it flies in a straight line away from the wielder. Any objects of creatures thrown must be within 10 feet of each other. A total weight of up to 25 pounds per wielder level (maximum 375 pounds at 15th level) can also be thrust away.

Sonic boom (Sp): Starting at the 18th level, the wielder imbues his weapons with the sonic boom ability . This ability deals an additional 3d6 points of sonic damage to the target and 1d6 points of sonic damage to all creatures adjacent to the weapon’s path. Creatures that take sonic damage from the boom must succeed at a DC 16 Fortitude save or be defeaned for 1 minute.

Deafened (Sq): At 20th level, the character becomes permanently defeaned.
